Days 2 & 3

Well, Day 2 we travelled from Missouri to Ohio - great weather and beautiful scenery.  We journeyed through Illinois, Indiana then on to Ohio.  Here are a few pictures along the way:
Heading over the Mississippi!

I always thought Illinois was next to Ohio!  Guess I didn't really pay attention to Geography!

We visited with my sister in law in Wilmington Ohio (I forgot to take a picture of her beautiful farm house when we left.  She and her husband restored it beautifully - I feel like a princess when I stay with her.  We had such a nice visit - I learned so much more about my mother in law - I never knew she was a seamstress!  My husband has 6 sisters and 2 brothers.  When my in laws were starting their family, they had 4 girls and then took a little break and then the remaining 6 children came along.  So, the first 4 girls really were like a family unto their own.  Things were very different for them - then the "second" family my husband grew up in.  The stories from my sister in law about my mother in law are SO different from the stories Karl tells me.  My mother in law changed quite a bit after one of her daughters passed away - she stopped a lot of the things that she did with the "first" family.  Anyway, it was wonderful to hear the stories of her - I learned a lot about her that I didn't know.

Coming into Columbus, Ohio

A good 'ole Ohio farm!  BEAUTIFUL!!
We spent the night in Wilmington and hit the road to Terry's house for a short visit.  It was SO wonderful to visit with her - you should see her beautiful home and her quilts in person - her gardens and quilts are so much prettier than pictures show on her blog.  And she is a PEACH!  Thank you Terry for making me feel so at home - I am looking forward already to our visit next year :)

We landed in Clearfield, PA last night and now I am getting ready to leave for the trip to RI.  We meet Karl and the rest of the children tonight at midnight at the airport in Warwick RI.  And of course, I can't wait to see and smell the ocean.  I will be sure to take pictures for you!!  Until then!!

  2. How fun to have learned so much about your MIL. It sounds like a great visit as well as the visit with Terry does.

The sights you are enjoying along the way are making me antsy to hop in the car and start driving.

    Safe travels!
